The GIRF Associates Board
The Associates Board funds ground-breaking research projects that are conducted by the Fellows in the Section of Gastroenterology at the University of Chicago. By providing "seed" money in the early stages of research, the Associates Board funding helps researchers gain necessary initial results they need to be competitive candidates for funding from large institutions like the National Institute of Health. The Associates Board also sponsors educational events that promote awareness and offer insight regarding treatment and living with IBD. In addition, the Associates Board provides a forum for young adults to engage in social networking and support for their experiences with these diseases.
