The GIRF Women's Board

Funds raised by the Women's Board support both a Fellow in Gastroenterology and the Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) Registry. The IBD Registry is used to collect information that is used for research into the links between genes and diseases such as Crohn's and ulcerative colitis, outcomes such as cancer, and the identification of patients with similar characteristics for treatment. It remains one of the largest databases for IBD in the world and has produced extremely important findings.
